help my car is riding like crap...

my car feels like im off roading at speeds above 50 mph - when i hit dips the car really takes them hard - i thought maybe my shocks were going so i replaced them - its still the same - the car seems to over steer too when i hit a bump. to me it feels like the stance it too high - all the tires are brand new so its not them - when i hit a bump it feels like the suspension is smashing into the car and the steering is starting to get bad so i replaced all the ball joints- help

Maybe your rear swaybar is on upside down. Somebody I know did that once, and he thought the ride was normal until I figured it out for him when I rode in the car.

I don't think that that is the case becasue this is a problem that has developed over the past 2 years - it started getting really bad when I had the engine replaced a little over a year ago - one strange thing is when i got the car back i had a broken tranny mount and i didn't when i bought it in

well my car has similar symptoms of what your describing. My 91 has 75,000 on it. I recently replaced the rear springs and shocks and this helped out alot, however I still have a big impact feeling on the right rear side while going over bumps, this is never felt on the left side (while going over bumps that take the whole width of the vehicle) As for the front of my car I have the same crappy cornering, and high ride height. the car feels like its gonna tip over to the right on left hand turns at any speed. I plan to replace the struts and springs up front this week, but I suspect the problem is more complicated than that. I guess this may have something to do with my steering linkage.

blue - mines the exact oposite (left side) I too thought about it being something in the steering linkage - What i don't get though is my car looks higher than it did - at least in the front - I was parked next to a stock grandam yesturday and my car looked to be just as high - i've been thinking springs maybe - I thought the car road lower though when the springs crapped out - oh well i guess ill figure it out sometime - between this and them putting a 305 with a total $hit cam in it last year (which took me 6 months to figure out why my car was so slow) I'm starting to get that my car is becomming a old POS feeling which I really don't like

thats the exact feeling I get with my car, old pos... But what I love about it is when I'm done dicking around a little, it should be back to normal, (pleasepleaseplease!) My worst worries are of a bent frame mount from previuos owner. You know what the worst problem is with all the stuff that wrong right now, if you take it to GM to get a heads up on exactly whats wrong, they look at you and say its normal for a camaro with that mileage. Then you look at that inbred f***, and ask him what he drives, and if he likes how it handles. He replies that his neon thats parked out back is great, and he just got new gold colored plastic hubcaps for it, and he can't wait to .... well you get the picture, that really happend to me, two diffrent dealers told me it was normal, and that they couldn't and wouldn't find much wrong thats worth replacing. well, I'm not ase certified, and I'm not that great a mechanic, but what kind of fools are these people? If you want something done right I guess you always have to do it yourself. Good luck with your problem, you may have better luck taking your car to the dealer to have your problem isolated, it could save you lots of head scratching time, or WTF time. I'll let you know how my front is after springs and struts are done.

one of my best friends works at a suspension shop so that helps... I did get side swiped by a mustang 3 years ago in the rear passenger side but it really wasn't feeling bad at all until about a year ago... I just hope I can fix it sometime, cause i do love my car to death
