Subframe Connector Installation question

When installing subframe connectors, do I need to have the car supported on its wheels (i.e. does this require a lift)? Can this be done properly with the car supported on jack stands? I don't want to preload the chassis while installing the SFCs.
Thanks

It has to be on the wheels, as it would sit naturally. Otherwise you end up with problems like doors not closing properly and the car is "pre-stressed" because you welded it into a certain "bent" position.

There... Now that that is perfectly clear...

As long as the suspension is loaded, does it matter how?

when i made mine i took some readings with an angle finder when the car was parked on a known level surface (patio). then in the garage i put jack stands under the rear axle and the front control arms. used 1/2" ply wood for shims under the jack stand to get the same readings i had sitting on the patio. made the SFCs and welded them on and everything works fine.

I recently talked to a tech at Global West, and they said that if at all possible, you should have them installed with the car loaded and with the driver(weight)in the drivers seat. Right now, my motors' out of the car(I'm installing a 383 roller w/ about 500 h.p.),so before I Start my engine after the installation, I'm going to install the sub frame connectors. With all the horror stories about stress cracks from chassis flex,I'm not gonna take any chances.
