WIll having an aftermarket Sunroof installed weaken the car??

Howzit everyone, I was wondering if having an aftermarket sunroof (say from http://www.skylitesunroofs.com/) installed in a z28 coupe would weaken the car? I heard somewhere that cars with the t-tops (like my RS) are weaker when you have high horsepower because they case the car to twist more. I'm not sure if the z28 i'm gonna get will have a sunroof or nit, but I know I want one ... and i also plan to be running alot of horsepower (400+ @ LEAST). Will the car be able to handle it?? Thanks for any input!!

It will severly hurt your structural integrety (misspelled). The main roof support runs right down the middle of the roof, right were that hole will go. A Ttops conversion is a much better idea.

...dude took the words right outta my mouth! I strongly recommend that you either live with the hardtop or just wait and find a factory T-Top car. You'll diminish the structural integrity of the car by cutting a hole in the center of the roof.

...trust us on this!

ok, i do have an aftermarket sunroof in my 86 firebird, the guy before me had it done. now when i took the headliner out to repair i saw that the middle bar was cut with tin snips or something, not very clean cut. but i also have an 88 iroc with t-tops, and let me say my bird drive much better than the iroc, i dont even notice the flex on the bird like i do the iroc when i turn corners.
