Front End Question
Here is a list of symptoms
1- when braking hard, steering wheel moves side to side, it does not vibrate, it turns violently left to right
2- when braking, and I mostly notice this when I gently depress the brake pedal, I can hear a KLUNK coming distinctly from the driver side frontend, by the wheel.
3- the same wheel (left front) has a greater degree of brake dust accumilation on the rim, than the rest of the wheels.
4- upon taking the left front wheel off, the brake pads have significant wear in contrast to the right front brake pads
These are what I have noticed, not all the symptoms showed up at the same time.
The steering wheel shaking, and the brake pad wear were the first set, then the rest came later on.
I have a 1989 Formula WS6, the center link has been replaced already,
could it be the brake caliper?

i think i'd be inspecting my front end for worn parts and replacing what i find bad. i'd suspect your caliper pins are binding and maybe a strut, plus maybe bushing.

My guess is one of two things: 1) replace your flexible lines running between the body and the caliper and/or; 2) remove your caliper and re-grease the sleeves that it "floats" on.
My '88 Formula had a sever pull while braking and it is now back to normal after doing both of the above.
The flexible lines degrade over time to essentially act as one-way vavles - brake fluid goes to the caliper but does not have the same unrestricted flow from the caliper back to the master cylinder.
As far as the grease goes, I used the stuff AUto Zone sells in the little "handy-wipe-sized" packets that they usually have on the counter beside each computer terminal.
Good luck!
