Sway Bars

May sound stupid but do sway bars (front and rear) go bad or just the bushings? Also whats the difference between a stock sway bar and say another companies.

They don't "go bad", but they can suffer from road damage if you run up a large enough curb or hit something tall enough. Or the bolts can work loose. But mostly the rubber bushings just break down from age and oil exposure. That's why most ppl here replace with polyurethane pieces; they're impervious to oil and other automotive fluids.

Aftermarket bars could be thicker or solid or made from stronger materials. Also some may incorporate a slightly different design adding one advantage or another (like the ones that use spherical rod ends instead of end-links).

So basically its not the bar but the bushings. And the proprolene (excuse the spelling) ones your talking about are the best. I also assume this will tighten the car up during high speeds and turns.
