THE BEST SHOCKS

It's time to change my stock shocks and struts that have 70k on them. I have the WS6 package, Lakewood LCA's/panhard rod, some poly bushings(mostly in rear), GS-14 steering box brace, and subframe connectors. I'd like to keep my springs, because i like the stock ride height, and I have clearance problems. Also, I do drag race and they are a little worn, so I get good transfer. The next part is crucial. I want to change the shocks and struts, but I don't want to get drag shocks, because I want the car to handle well. BUT, on the other hand, I dont want super stiff suspension that will make the car handle to stiff because I hate hitting bumps real hard and I never autocross or take turns really hard. So, basically what I'm saying is being that my car hits bumps real hard, I 'd like to get shocks that will soften the ride up JUST A LITTLE, BUT keep it handling pretty well. What are your suggestions? Visit my webpage and ask any questions you may have below. I want this to be set up for ALL AROUND use (track, street, handling, cruising, etc.) Thanks for your help. -Justin

Thanks. Could you please tell me why? You know, why I would want them and also, what are some of the features of them? what rate do i get, are they adjustable? part #'s etc. Also, what about the Edel. IAS? They seem good, are they? thanks.

Justin,
How did you get those pics on your site? I also have webtv and have my own web page through the system. If you want a set of cheap reliable shocks then I would go for the kyb struts and shocks. I got mine from summit for only $164 for the whole set.

It's not the price or durability. i hardly drive he car. I just want the perfect street strip set that'll ride nice and do well at the track. How about the Koni adj.
ohyeah, I had someone scan the pics, then email them to me. I saved them in the scrapbook, which will apper as an option on the email inbox and then put them on the page in page builder.

Last time I checked they don't make the Edelbrock IAS for our cars. I just bought Eibach pro-kit springs and Tokico struts/shocks. Ithandles better than stock. The ride is firmer but not harsh. My stock springs had 220,000 miles on them.

84 Z28 305HO, 5spd, 220,000 miles, Edelbrock intake, Hedman headers, low restriction exh(w/cat), K&N air filter. Best 1/4 so far 14.649 at 94.77mph
Recent additions: Del-A-lum front control arm bushings, Moog ball-joints, Energy suspension front sway bar end links, Moog rear sway bar end links, Eibach pro-kit springs, tokico shocks/struts. Need relocation brackets and control arms.

I have the Koni Adjustable struts in the front and they are quite niec cause you can set them low for driving around town and they absorb alot, or you can set them real stiff and drive hard. They adjust easily for both the front and rear. However, while I haven't had experience with them yet I was thinking of putting the new KYB AGX shocks in the rear, although they might be good all around. They seem like a great shock. Check them out in the Summit catalog. They are a touch cheaper than the Koni's but still pretty steep a full set would run around 400. Good luck.

Okay I'm going w/ the Koni's for the front. So what about the rears? It seems as if nobody really knows which are best. Any suggestions. Do I want the adjustable for the rear? or is regular okay. Money isn't really the object, i just want what I described ealier.
