Re: Anybody ever tried this?

There's all kinds of stuff you can safely 'stand' a car on at any height. The issue is with getting it SAFELY jacked up that high - not too scary when your car is wobbling on a jack 10 inches in the air - but when you jack it up to those heights to get the wood under it, that's when your spinchter muscle reacts! I guess that's why they are using 2 units to get that high.

Does this look like a strong base that would work with different vehicles?

Light wood is 2''x4'''s and dark wood is 2''x6''.

Re: Anybody ever tried this?

looks to me like you're wasting a lot of 2x4s to set the car on a 2x6. don't think I'd trust it without more support under the 2x6.
