disc brakes

I have a '89 RS with 2.8L V6 and want to install rear disc brakes. I found an '86 IROC with 4 wheel disc brakes. My question is can I install the '86 disc brakes on my '89?

Engine: 5.0 w/ Holly carb

Transmission: TH-700R4

Look around for a rear with the better '89-'92 rear disc setup. It is amuch better setup. But the '86 rear w/disc brakes will fit your car.

it'll fit, but your braking will actually get worse.

Done did that with my 85 Z. you have a lot of work ahead of you. I put an 85 set up in mine. I had to change the master cylender and porportioning valve to get it to stop. I I'm looking for a better booster now. After what I went through I would say check your options

Engine: 350 HO Deluxe (350ci/330hp)

Transmission: T-5 (Non-WC)

Axle/Gears: Limited Slip 3.23's

Early rear discs are knocked about frequently on this board, but I swapped a disc rear end from an 86 into my 85 and have had no problems with it whatsoever (5-speed. I regularly use the hand brake).
