Left front clicking and clanking

I am new to this sort of thing in fact i just bought a 88 IROC. It is my first vehicle that does not have leaf springs.(Chevy 4X4's) Only when turning right while moving a clicking grinding sound spews forth from the left wheel I took off the wheel and everything is solid. The caliper has a little play could this be causing it. Or is it a worn bushing or balljoint

Well, I think a little better description of the problem would help you here. But from what you said here are my suggestions of things to check out. First your power steering pump and/or steering gear. Also your sway bar and other suspension bushings, if they are dead it could cause the suspension to shift and pop under stresses.

I have been having the same problem with my 91 trans am. Only when turning right do you hear a pop or clunk. When you turn left no problem. I got underneath and greased all the fittings like crazy and it got much better but is still there. If you find anything out, let me know. I checked the sway bars and fittings and look fine. Also just passed a PA safety inspection (which are pretty tough)with no issues. I am out of ideas and just have learned to deal with it....

Did you ever check the strut mounts? We had a problem in my friends sunbird with that and the top of the strut wasn't turning like it was supposed to. We took it out and heated and oiled it a bit and spun it till it worked again.

I found two things while under there one the grease fitting for the ball joint is gone and since i just bought he car I do not know for how long. Plus the threaded part is broken. Next is that the tie rod connected to the pitman arm will not grease i even changed the fitting and no luck. I geuss i will change them out and see what happends

Are you running aftermarket wheels? When I turn my car, at low speeds, it sounds like a CV joint click. Turns out, my rims are two piece and make a bit of noise when stressed.
