Brake recommendations for a 12 sec. daily driver
My new setup should put me in the 12's and this car is my daily driver. The stock 89 IROC brakes suck and I wondered what you guys would recommend for some decent stopping power on the street. I hear good things about Baer, but they seem pretty expensive. If I went with Bear, what level (track, touring, etc.) would you guys recommend for both the front and rear brakes? Or is there a cheaper company that sells good brakes and what package of their's would you recommend? I am keeping the stock 16x8 wheels for now, but plan on 17x9.5 and 17x11 ZR-1 wheels in the future. Also, is keeping the stock brake system and just upgrading the calipers an pads and option?

Baer's most popular setup seems to be their Track kit. It offers 13" rotors in the front and 12" rotors for the rear. But keep in mind that is will only clear SOME 16" wheels. I would go for getting the rim and tire combo that is gonna make you happy, and working around that. It will end up costing you less in the end. I paid about $2,500 for my complete Baer kit, front and rear.

You may want to check out wilwood. They may be a little cheaper than Baer. I know when I start with brakes, I'm going with Baer. I know it's over kills for the LO3 but that will be fixed down the road. If you do go with Baer's track kit make sure they will fit your rims.
