I finally figured out why I can't lock my brakes...

While doing some more work to get my car back on the road, I happened to get a GOOD look at the vacuum line leading to the brake booster from underneath the car (the headers are out).

I thought it looked odd, so I looked at it from the top. Looks fine... looked at it from underneath again... sure enough, the damn thing has a hell of a kink in it. The hose was almost completed squashed flat at one point.

No wonder the car didn't stop, and no wonder I replaced the brake booster trying to fix the problem. What I can't understand is why I didn't see the problem with the booster out.

Oh well. I'm going to get some hard metal line to replace most of the vacuum hose with.

Hawk, I was scanning through some old Hot Rod magazines, and saw some cars that had that done... looked damn sweet. What kind of steel line would you use? Brake line?

Fuel line, actually. Brake line isn't big enough in diameter.
