Tires rub wheel well
Tires rub wheel well
Ok I work at Belle tire and this guy with a 1970 Charger came in and bought new tires and wheels and he gave the old ones to me. They look like the american racing torq-thrust "D" wheels. The sizes are 15 inch and are 2 different offset sizes. The rears have 275 and stick out past the wheel well about 3/4 of a inch, they look really bad a$$. The fronts have 205's on them, all four are 60 series. My problem is the rears hit the wheel well and rub. How can I correct this problem, without changing tire sizes?

I had this ame proble m on my '85 Iroc. I had 275-60s on the rear and they rubbed pretty good on the lips of the quarter panels and I just about ruined my tires, of course if I would have had a wheel with more backspacing the probably wouldn't have rubbed a bit. My rear wheels where 15 by 8.5s. You could maybe try air shocks, but that makes your car ride like crap, or you could get wheels with more backspacing. I just went ahead and went back to the original Iroc wheels and I like them much better anyway. Just experiment with it for awhile.
