Idler arm replacement

I am replacing the idler arm, have the old one off and in the process of installing the new one. I have run into a problem though, the bolt(?) attached to the steering turns with the nut as I am trying to tighten the idler arm to it. There must be some trick I am not aware of. If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.

If you’re talking about the relay rod then you can try 2 things.
1 tap it in with a hammer, it would be better to use a plastic mallet.
2 this works really good sand the shank on the bolt lightly and then push up on the relay rod and have some one tighten the nut.

Just pushing up on the relay rod will sometimes do it.
