18" wheel question

What is the largest tire you can fit on 18" wheels without hacking the hell out of the quarters.

I dunno about the "without hacking" part but this guy has the widest 18s I've seen.
"Its an 85 transam with 9x18" front and 9.5x18" rears with 265/40x18"bridgestones"
