Proportioning Valve

i have a question. can a second design J65 Proportioning Valve be used on a first design J65 braking system. i have an 88' Iroc with rear disk brakes, which really suck and do not work . if not, what proportioning valves can be used with the first design J65 braking system. Thanks in advance.

What do you mean by "first design" and "second design"? In mid 1989 the size of the front brake lines was changed from M1.0 to M1.5, so without changing your lines and hoses, the latest valve you'd be able to use would be the 1989 first design.

Thanks for the info. I thought there was a differnce in the hose size, but now i am sure. There is this prop. valve on an 89 GTA i wanna pull. It has PBR single piston calipers on the rear and single piston cast iron calipers on the front. If the hoses are the same size will it work on my 88' with cast iron front and rear single piston calipers. Any info is appreciated.
