lowered car problems, tire wear

After a real close inspection of my front tires they seem to be wearing on the outside more the the inside??? shouldn;t it be the opposite witha lowered car? anyway...this means I am not getting full use of the tire area on the front, is there a way to cure this, I not sure how it was lowered, looks like just springs. I bought it this way and the passenger side ground effect is ~ 7 inches of the ground just in front of the Z, in IROC-Z. Could some one measure their 1987 IROC-Z with a 305 and 5 speed. I would like the know how lowered this car is. If I put in IROC spring back in the front and installed lowering spindals would that solve the problem? I love the look but I don't want to loose performance.

I had the same problem. all it was, was the alignment of the tires in the front. I took it to be aligned, and realized I needed a new idler arm and ball joints to keep the tires straight. I think you should check your idler arm first, its real simple to change, then get the front end aligned.

Get it aligned with performance alignment setting suited for a lowered car that is driven hard. The stock settings aren't very good at all.
camber -.5
caster +4.5
toe +1/16
are good setting to try. Every car/driver is different, so multiple alignments are sometime needed to get the set-up that handles the best and wears the tires the best. Give the above specs to a 'good' alignment shop. Tell them to check the suspension for worn parts(they should do this anyway) and talk to the person doing the alignment, explaining why you want the specs. If he/she is experienced, they will understand perfectly.

Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, current red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...
