Alignment needed after lowering 1 inch..

I put Eibach pro springs in my 92 firebird this weekend and I want to get an alignment, problem is there is only 1 shop that will do it. I called the local mieneke and midas's and none of them will touch a lowered car. This alignment specialist shop wants $100 to do the alignment.

Does anyone have specs that I can give another shop and just tell them to do it to these specs? I don't see why the ride hieght would affect it to the point where they couldn't do it. Besides that, this alignment specialist shop is one of those places thats very disorganized. They told me to drop the car off at 7:30 and they "may or may not get to it today".. I don't like to drive 20 miles and have the car sit for a whole day only to repeat the process all over again if they can't do it before 5..

Any help would be appreciated..

You should just make an appointment at any reputable shop, and not tell them about your 1" drop. Usually the only problem you run into is correcting the negative camber from a car that is dropped too low. But with only a 1" drop, there should be no problem, and I hardly think the shop would notice, unless there was a camaro enthusiast working there. Alignments are $40 in my area, I cant seem them being much more in yours.

Stay away from the big franchise shops like the ones you're talking about, they're too corporate & too concerned about working on modified cars & getting sued, etc. Stick w/ the local garages (these guys tend to not care what's been done to the car & will try to do a better job b/c they don't have a big company name behind them), preferably one w/ a lower alignment rack (so you don't bottom out) or an old school one w/out the rack. The guy I deal with doesn't even use the rack for lowered cars & my alignment is awesome! Good luck w/ it!
