Disc brakes on drum rearend
Disc brakes on drum rearend
I just put in a 9 bolt rear with a posi 2:77's and discs, replacing a 10 bolt with a peg leg 3:23's and drum brakes. I want to put the 10 bolt back in and still keep my discs, will they just bolt on to my drum rear? Oh ya im putting the 10 bolt back in because i drove the car with 2:77's in it and was not impressed, then i looked at the price for gears for a 9 bolt, 386 bucks!

I am pretty sure the discs will not bolt to the 10-bolt. I am positive that discs from a 10-bolt will not bolt to a drum 10-bolt. The mounting flanges on the ends of the axle tubes are different on disc and drum rears. And since the 9-bolt is a different type of rear, im not even sure if the 9-bolt disc assembly is the same as a 10-bolt disc assembly.
