What break pads do you reccomend for my car? I have a 89 gta with four wheel disks. I mostly do city driving and passes at the local drag strip. I do want the best break pads that I can get with out spending a ton of money. I want pads for under about $100 for all four.
any thoughts?

I used to use VGX Metallix pads from Summit. They'd run about $50 for a set of four and it comes with all new bushings, o-rings, silencer clips, and moly lubricant. They produced very little dust. They just don't seem to last very long, though that could just be a combination of the way I drive and the drilled rotors. I'm just using some generic pads right now because I needed some pads THAT DAY and couldn't wait on a mail-order shipment. These brake just as good, although they do put out a crapload of dust.
The point is, your choice of pads is pretty much like your choice of spark plugs. They'll all get the job done the same, you're just probably paying for a gimmick.

I like the generic "organic" pads, which are super cheap, but, IMHO, very good because they last forever, and they are easy on the rotors, whereas metallic pads eat up the rotors, then it's new rotor time . $$$$.
The "organics" do create some dust, but it doesn't bother me. At least it's not asbestos.
I can get a set of 4 organic pads for $14.00 I think, brand name is "Satisfied", from National Auto.
Some guys hate the organic because of the dust. A matter of taste I guesss.
