Shock/Strut Replacement to maintain a stock WS6 setup

I have an '89 305 TPI with the WS6 suspension. The miles are pretty low, but when going into and out of driveways, you can hear and feel some pretty firm settling from the front and the rear wheel wells. I'm thinking new shocks and struts are in order.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!!

Re: Shock/Strut Replacement to maintain a stock WS6 setup

I just installed KYB GR-2 gas struts and shocks on my '89 GTA yesterday. It was a HUGE improvement, and I am very pleased with them so far. I am pretty sure what I had was the orginal set, and had leaked down pretty bad. So anything was an improvement. But, so far, I have been impressed. They were also very reasonably priced. I got them from summit racing.

How hard is it to install the struts, mounts, and shocks if you're not that mechanically inclined?

It could be difficult for someone who is not "mechanically inclined." But if you got you a haynes manual for the third gen camaro/firebird, you might be able to make your way through it. I had never changed them either, and got it done with no problems. My advice would be to follow the method that is in the haynes manual, it is by far the fastest way.
