4th gen Master Cylinder?

I've converted to 1LE fronts and 97 T/A PBR rear discs on my 91 Z28, and I'm having some pretty weird problems. The car stops like an animal off the highway, but sometimes it gets really hard about half way down pedal travel and I have no braking power. Its not soft at all, but it just stops! I have a new prop valve for rear discs, and a new MC for 89-up. Even the booster is new! I'm contemplating upgrading to a 4th gen MC because I heard they don't have the stepped bores like thirdgen's do, so I'd have more stopping power w/ my rear brakes. Another alternative was gutting my prop valve, or just putting an adjustable one in. I don't think I'm getting the brake pressure I should be.

Another weird thing... When I bled the rear brakes, the pedal would only go down about half way then come to that same hard spot. But, when I bled the fronts, the pedal went all the way to the floor, like another 4 inches of travel. Could this be a stuck prop valve? I get fluid out of the front and rear when I bleed, and the pedal isn't spongy at all. I have Earls Hyperflex stainless hoses throughout the system too. Thanks in advance!

Never mind... but-

If you do the swap to a 4th gen m/c, let us know!

Will do Tom, have any thoughts on my problems? I'll probably convert when I put my adj. prop valve in.
