My question is two fold. First, When in motion I hear and slightly feel a grinding noise coming from the front wheels. The steering is a little loose too. Am I right to assume that an alignment and new set of tires will correct this problem? What else could it be? And second, I've been looking for a fair price on subframe connectors. I can't seem to beat the price of $150. Does anyone know of of a place that can beat that price? Thanks...

 

This is most likely not the problem, but it could be: when I got my new tires, the geniuses at the tire shop put one of my rear wheels (16x8 with different front and rear offsets) on the front. I was getting a horrible grinding noise about a mile down the road. I didn't know what was going on so I pulled over. Since the noise was new, I took off the wheels one at a time and found that the driver's side front (where the noise was coming from) wheel said rear only on it. It was the first thing I saw when I took off the wheel. Next thing was the little ring on the inside of the rim where it had been grinding against my spindle? (can't remeber). I put the correct wheels in the correct places--problem solved. It's nice to know that they pay so much attention to what they are doing when they work on your car

Oh, and the guy that owns the shop is my neighbor! Obviously no fault of his--if he has to check everything, he might as well not hire any help and be able to do only a few cars a day.
