i've heard it mentioned a few times, and have no clue as to what it is.....

 

it is a steering box brace, that ties the front subframes together, GM only put it on the IROC's.

 

Right... it bolts on between the stabilizer bar bushings and the frames.

Actually, its purpose is to bolt on under there and push up on everything, to make the car's headlights look bigger
