The Ends Justifies The Means

From a performance (handling) standpoint, how much better is a teflon lined sperical rod end over a polyurethane one? I know they are louder and I've heard they wear out a little quicker. Just wondering, and could someone explain the "bind-free" concept. I think I've got it, I just need to make sure. Thanks.
