Suspension questions

LCA's, relocation brackets, panhard rod.

What exactly do these do? Do they need better shocks and springs to really work?

Please pardon my ignorance.

LCA's are the arms that go from the car to the middle of each axle tube. The control up/down front/back movement of the rear suspension.

Relocation breckets are used to correct the geometry between the axle andt the LCA's whent the car has been lowered

The panhard rod controls the side to side motion(or lack there of)movement of the rearend.

Every suspesion piece on the rearend needs to be upgraded if you are serious about any sort of racing.

Thanks for the reply.

When I stomp on the gas, the car's front end will raise up noticeably right before it goes forward. So by using stronger parts like the ones mentioned above, will it help reduce this "lift", thus making the car launch quicker?

No, that has to do with the front suspension.

The rear parts are more for rear wheel hop and control of tire spin.

Plus if you get the adjustable components, you can actually get a 4-wheel alignment on the car since you can not do that to a stock car.

Plus the relocation brackets help in traction even if you do not have a lowered vehicle.

And, the "Lift" you speak of is called Weight Transfer, that's how you go fast.

Weight transfer puts more weight on the rear wheels, which are the wheel that have power going to them. This equals more traction...

The LCA relocation brackets will help in a non-lowered car. They will make rear of the car squat less when you launch. Or in some cases the rear end will actually come up when you launch--mine does.

Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets.
