3.23 to 3.73

What kind of improvement will I notice,as far as SOTP and 60' times? I don't want to go any steeper than 3.73's, as this is my daily driver and I do drive around a lot,but I also like to go to the track on the weekends and add to my light to light list. Is the cost worth it?

You'll probably be better off the line, but I think your mileage will suffer some. The cheapest way is to find a L4 engined f-body in the bone yard (I believe many of them came with 3.73's because the L4 barely made enough power to get out of it's own way) and get 90-92 axles with the SLP posi.

My 3.42 is going to cost me about $275 when all is said and done with a near complete rebuild and the above mods... that's axle bearings and seals and all new brake components... my main cap bearings and pinion bearing were practically new in this core I got. For me, it's worth the cost because i have anemic 2.73's in it now.

As far as 60 foot times... they might improve a little, but more than gearing, traction is your biggest issue there.

I just recently went from 3.23 to 3.73 and i noticed a huge difference off the line and on the highway. It jumps up to speed up on ramps. Gas mileage i noticed i fill up maybe a day sooner. usely every 4 days. Don't know the numbers trip meter broke. But as for traction it hooks up good but when tranny is cold it sctraches 2nd pretty good.
But with brand new Traction T/A's and a new Eaton posi it should launch hard.
As for numbers ive never run it at the track and when spring comes i want to.
Bone stock on Gtech I ran 0-60 6.9sec. didn't feel like getting a ticket for quarter.
Haven't g teched it since gears or other mods.
