Differences in 89+ rear calipers and pre-89?

Engine: 355 forged 4 bolt, SuperRam, 58mm t
Transmission: T5, looking for t-56
Differences in 89+ rear calipers and pre-89?
Are there any? I am swapping in an 87 posi,rear disc unit this weekend from an IROC and have seen a couple topics about 89+ rear discs.What are the differences,if any,and what can I do to upgrade to the better set-up?
