SFCs & SLP Y-Pipe

Everyone knows, and it has been well discussed, the problem of getting a SFC to fit around the SLP y-pipe.

We got a car in with the SLP single cat y-pipe and solved the problem:

SLP dual cat y-pipe use our dual cat version SFCs.

Hey Steve,

I've been trying to figure out how much shipping would be on a sub frame connector to have it shipped to California. Just an estimate.

If you put them in our shopping cart it will show you the shipping costs before you have to enter any payment information...that's the quickest easiest way to find out.

grafx: Email me with your ship to ZIP code and the part(s) you want and I'll let you know the shipping cost.

toosloz: Not sure what you mean. If you have another brand SFC and want to go SLP y-pipe, then yeah, you'll most likely need to do some mods to get it installed.

I have the edelbrock Y-pipe and your Spohn subframe connectors they knock against the y-pipe so bad when I am driving that I just about go crazy are the ones you made for slp headers what I need?? I can't afford another set I was just wondering if that would solve it.

Look at the installed SLP pic and you'll see what you have to do.

The Edelbrock fits fine, I install them here all the time with no problem. What you need to do is loosen your y-pipe connections to the header collectors, also loosen the y-pipe connection to the cat.

With it loose you can move the y-pipe around for clearance. Just take a small pry bar and hold the y-pipe away from the SFC, then have a second person re-tighten all the y-pipe connections. The y-pipe will then stay where you were holding it after tightened.

You may (will) have to heat up the collector bolts before loosening them.

Steve,Hey I have SLP single cat headers on my RS.Anyway I have a set of your dual cat subframe connectors sitting in the basement waiting to go on(bought the dual for the additional clearance).Am I going to have to modify it to make it work?I might get them on before this year is up.lol

JT to be honest I don't know. Before I made a specific set up for the SLP, I had people tell me they used the dual cat and it cleared for them, I haven't tried it myself so I can't say for sure.

hey Steve
Would you say that getting the SLP sub-frame connectors for a stock camaro would be the best choice for someone who plans to do future upgrades? If I do purchase SLP sub connectors will there be a problem with clearence with the stock exhaust or will I actually have more clearance using these compared to the original connectors?

If you have future plans of SLP y-pipe then get the SLP SFCs, there will be no problems with the stock y-pipe.
