Can you install sway bars, control arms, and panhard bar without lifting car?

I am going to get the Spohn sway bar kit, lower control arms, and panhard bar. Can I just crawl under the car and do the install or should the wheels be off the ground. I will get the car alligned once installed but was wondering if it is okay to do that. Is it neseccary to take the wieght off the rear/front before removing and installing components?

You'll need to jack up the rear end to do the control arms and panhard bar. I'm a little confused though. Just how do you plan on crawling under the car without lifting it? Even if you were that skinny (wow that's skinny), you wouldn't have any room to move around under there.

yea I know it would be tight but I think I could do the sway bars. My car is in storage and I am at school 130 miles away so I can't exactly go look at. I was just curious. I always have a helluva time jacking my car up anyways. The little strip that you put the jack on is bent to hell and I cannot get a floor jack undernieth it without using the factory jack. I can get it under the rear but not the front.

If you drove the car over a ditch or a oil change pit you could work on it from underneath. But you need access to the front sway bar links. The other option is to try a set of ramps. I can't get under mine without lifting it, but mines lowered and that doesn't in gaining access under it. No need to unload any suspension items to do the swap. It doesn't matter either way. I recommend using new bushings both for the sway bars & the sway bar end links. Actually the GM 1LE sway bar link kit (p/n 10221779)
is very reasonably priced. I paid around $5 for each from Dal at VanDevere Olds (800)362-9494. Four link kits are req'd. Lon

I am pretty sure the spohn stuff comes with new bushings. How much is the 1LE sway bar and is it better than hotchkis or spohn? Oh and I tried the ramps but they were like 1" to tall and the sides of the nose scraped on the rampsas the car went up. No Biggy, I'll just fight with the jack/jack stands

I imagine being in Ohio, the winter months and salty roads have taken a toll under your car. I had to use a cutoff wheel to get rid of my end links. Good luck with out jack stands.

fortunately the car has never been driven in winter, in its life. I will just get it out and lift it up. My dad has two corvairs stored right next to it wedging it in. so I thought I would try and just crawl under it without having to rearange all the cars.
