Hey fellas, I'm new to Third Gen cars, and I'm looking to get a Firebird. I don't have one now though. Wondering what it takes to lower one of these cars to be 4" off the ground all the way around with 28" tall tire in the rear, and 25" tall tire in the front. Thanks in advance. Matt

WTB, 1985-1992 Firebird with Hardtop good body, running engine.

Re: Newbie

lowering is done the same as with any other vehicle, springs, of one fkind or another. Its hard to say what you need since you dont have a car, and we dont know what height its currently at, and what the car will be used for, since that will be a factor is what method you should be using.

Re: Newbie

Sorry, for not a lot of details fellas. The car will be a 85-92...Don't have it yet. It will be used for land speed racing, and I'm going to keep the stock style suspension, but want to upgrade the front with A-arms, and the rear will have a 9" with coil overs. I'd like to get it a few inches off the ground. Speed bumps are not a problem on the salt.
