long vs short torque arm

When I replace my rear end this spring, I also want to change the torque arm because I will be running slicks and dont want the stocker to bend or break on me. Before I order one, what are the pros and cons to either the longer one or a shorter one like the jegster one that mounts in the tunnel. This car is about 70% street and 30% track and no auto crossing.

Re: long vs short torque arm

I ran the negated tq arm when they first came out and I loved it. It tried to plant the tires in the rain! The ride was a little more harsh and it would bang a little.the unwrap of 14 bolts and nuts through the tunnel meant the seats and carpet had to come out no biggie that gave me a chance to shampoo the carpet outside lol.......

Now that more bars have hit the market I prefer the long arms especially for a car that is a driver DEFINATELY get an adjustable model........
As far as breaking or bending the stock arm you should be more concerned with a better rear end first.... I aswell as many others have been 10s with the stock tq arm 1.46 60' times and slower.

Re: long vs short torque arm

I run the jegster adjustable torque arm with no complaints, do a search on here for it, lots of threads about them. I wouldn't run a stock one off the trans at all. Too much stress on the trans housing and trans mount

I want to get it off the trans because I tore out the bolts from the mount to the trans. Its a good thing I guess that I am back to getting a 12 bolt and having my old 700r4 rebuilt to handle the motor.
