I've got a set of BMR poly/poly RLCA's on my car now but I'm thinking of doing some aluminum 7075 double adjustables as a project. But I'm justifying improvements vs. cost.
According to speedmetals.com a piece of 2in round stock 24" long weights about 7.4lbs. Now cut it in half, gun drill a 3/4" hole through it, tap it, and install rod ends. What do you guys think strength wise?

Note: obviously my dimensions are off, but this is a rough estimate for comparison.
