car glides like on ice?

Today I was riding around in my friends 04 Mustang and everytime we would go down a hill (even small ones) his car would accelerate by 20-25 mph (so 35-60 and he did this on a hill tha was probably less than a 1/8th mile)! I was wondering how he was able to make his car glide down hills so well, because when I go down hills my car slows down (brakes arent rubbing either). Is there some sort of super lubricant out there or what?

P.S. He doesnt know what was done to the car because he bought it that way.

I don't think you want to put any kind of lubricant on your brakes, if that's what you mean.

No, I mean like on the bearings and other stuff like that to give it a nice smooth no resistance ride. His car just glides down hills and it has like no drivetrain loss. It makes me think there is some sort of superlubricant in his transmission and in all his suspension work.

Probably has more to do with aerodynamics and tires.

When we were driving though he had the windows down and he has the same tires as my moms 04 stang. My moms stang just doesnt drive like his for some reason even though they have the same tires and are both stock except for the whole gliding thing on his car

My civic is the same way. It always picks up more speed on downhills then the TA. Probably something to with smaller rotating mass in the front wheel setup.

To free wheel, the TA's got to turn the a beefier diff, a heavy drive shaft and who knows what else in the tranny.

TA also has wider tires. I wouldn't be surprised if the rear end isn't perfectly square to the frames causing the car to dog track a bit. All this creates extra friction. Wonder how many mpgs that costs me.
