Max lowering?
I've seen many threads that talk about lowering 1-2 inches. Has anyone gone lower? 3 or more inches? Apart from the practical difficulty with clearance on regular streets are there technical obstacles? Are parts readily available? On the back it doesn't look like there's much room to relocate stuff up more than about 2 inches.

Re: Max lowering?
if you did lowering spindles and lowering springs up front, you may be able to get up to 4" of drop, but you'll probably hit every pebble on the road not to mention possible geometry issues. back end, not so sure

Slam it for shows or what not, raise it for driving. Only way to go IMO if you like it really low. Too much of a practicality issue to have it permanently slammed.

This in on the factory rear bump stops and my strut shaft mounted bump stops on the front. You can get lower in the rear by cutting down the rear bump stop. The picture height is totally undriveable (i didn't even try). The radiator airdam is about 1" off the ground.

Re: Max lowering?
I figured more than 2" would get very impractical. I still it to be streetable. I may need to modify the wheel wells at some point unless I can get stiff enough springs so I don't hit the tires. I do like the lowered look and it'll help on the track too. I think having the wheel arch raised to match the contour of the tire when the car is lowered would look really good. Beyond my current skill set but I have a friend who can weld. ???

Riding on the bumpstops.....I can't think of a more annoying way to drive a car.
I'd say 1.5" is plenty low. Any more than that and those bumpstops will rattle you to death.

My final ride height is close to 86's. I'm at 25.75" front and 26" rear. I do not have any trouble driving the car this way. You have to be a bit careful on steep approaches, but no big deal on a weekend car.
//86\\, I have talked to you a lot here but I guess I have never seen your car. Absolutely beautiful. Keep up the good work.

one of my favorite pictures
while we are on this lowering topic, question for you. what part number are the front shaft mounted bump stops are you using? the number i found searching is Koni 70-34-53-000-0, but i cant find them in stock anywhere, and last time i checked, they were backordered for a few months on summit???
I dont have issues with the front end bottoming out, but i dont have any bump stops up front and would like to add something.

The downside to this setup is they are kinda tall. If I had mine off again I'd probably cut 1/2" off the end.

Re: Max lowering?
cool beans, thanks! I was looking, Spohn has some too, but they are the same price (same part?) as the koni's. 52 bux is a bit much for some foam/rubber IMO
