Wheel bearing
I hope I posted this in the right place. I have a squeaking noise when I make left turnes while driving. I'm going ahead and saying it's my front right wheel bearing because the squeaking keeps rythem with wheel speed and it is getting worse as time go by.. I'm going to replace both front's at the same time.
Is there any brands you guys would recommend? and what type of greese do you guy pack them with? The only wheel bearings I have done are on newer 4x4"s where you replace the whole hub asembly. So any heads up or advice will help.

Re: Wheel bearing
I like Timkin bearings, and you pack them with a tube of axle grease...

Re: Wheel bearing
Wheel bearings usually click or make grinding noises.
Squeaking is usually the brake pad wear indicator. Is it along the lines of a chirp? And goes away if you lightly brake? If so, brake pads.

Re: Wheel bearing
I've had wheel bearings make squeeking noises before. They were on my '78 Z28 and the grease was all but gone due to lack of maintenance. Timken bearings are good, make sure you replace the races too (they come with the bearings). And make sure you pack the grease in, not just wipe it on.

Re: Wheel bearing
the left front wheel bearing was loose on my 92 when i bought it, i think the outer bearings race whas never changed. It had worn enough that i could not fix it simply by tightening it, so i had to replace them.
It defiantly made a squeaking noise, no grind or anything, and it was more noticable when passing somebody on the right, otr driving on the highway next to the concrete barrier.

Re: Wheel bearing
no sonix, all the bearing have removable races, both in the rotor/hub. the bearings both fit on the spindle and have a slight interference fit.
