Does anyone on here use AST 4100 shocks / struts?

If so, are they worth the premium over Konis or Bilsteins?

My God! Buddy - if you need somewhere to toss some cash, I have plenty of empty pockets!

There's no way I'd ever spend $1650+ on ANY shock/strut! There is no way anyone could ever engineer a $800+ improvement over a Bilstein or a Koni! For that much cash, I better be able to have really good sex with it, and very often!

they definatly can. Koni yellows and the bilstein HD's are great over the counter shocks, but you can do A LOT better, it just costs a lot of money.

I know what these are, but honestly, i dont know anyone using them. I would assume you would be using these on a road race car? Since im sure thats how you found them...

Its a shame they are still only single adjustable.

they are only 1430 on strano's site...

I had planned on using them for ESP and for track days (mostly for ESP).

I did see them on Strano's site and Vorshlag's.

I know there is a guy, Jeff Wirtz, who runs them in CMC with pretty good success.

Thanks.

What he said. Koni even has several series of shocks that are even better than the off-the-shelf stuff ... they're inserts, though, so you'd just have to have stuff custom built to fit.

I don't know of anybody using ASTs on F-Bodies, but know some using them on newer Mustangs.

They seem to be popular among the BMW crowd. Apparently they say that the $1500 AST shocks are a good value over the $1000 Konis.

I love my Konis. Can't see trading up to the AST's.

I was thinking of a person who sells them and another Mustang that runs in my neighborhood.

Does AST still have an offering for our cars? I can't find anything where I used to see listings.
