Axle/Gears: Bw 9 bolt (3.70’s) pbr rotors
strut removal wooooahsss
hey everyone im looking into doing the struts on my 89 gta i got alot of ride bobbing in the front when i go over bumps is the struts hard to do or am i better off sending it to a shop to do it i know im going to need a spring compressor to do it or could i do it by taking stress off the suspension an let the lower control arm hang down while doing it or will the spring still fly out i dont want to die by a spring anytime soon so please give feed backs asap looking to start this job asap Joined: Sep 2005

THey're not too bad...
Take the stress off of the strut by jacking the car up by the control arms; NOT let it hang. From there it's pretty straightforward.

No need for a spring compressor or to remove the spring.
With a jack supporting the a-arm, just unbolt the strut, pull it out & replace. The spring can stay in place & stay compressed.
You may have to rest the car on a jack stand & let the a-arm come down some to get the strut in place, but no need to remove the spring.
