My 89 IROC needs new rear shocks..are these ok?

Ideally, I would go with Bilstein. But Im not spending the money at this time. I had the guy at the parts store look up a few. Adjustable KYB's were 150. non adjust were around $40. then monroe came in around $30. The kyb were rated 'good' and monroe 'better' the guy assured me these shocks were as good as if not better than OEM shocks..and even though the monroes were cheaper, they were better than the kyb's.
Do you really think those shocks are matched to the factory settings for the IROC? or just generic DOT specs? I wish I knew what Im about to get..what do you all know about rear shocks for an iroc?

skip the monroes. if you're on a budget, the kyb's (gr2 or gas-a-justs) are a good shock for the money. they're no Koni or Bilstein, but they'll perform better than most in their price range.
