I need a subframe (the actual hunk of a metal that the control arms, etc. connects to, I am not looking for the subframe connectors). Who would sell it online? How can I look for it as my search yielded almost no sensible results. I already contacted hawks thirdgen as I know they carry these type of parts but do you know any other sellers for this? Thanks.

front but I want to keep and use my OE control arms, basically I want to keep everything that is stock but apparently BMR K-members require aftermarket a-arms to be installed and AJE Racing part number is not available at Summit Racing. Any other online sellers?

Stock K member is strong and works.

If you need clearance, Ed Quay offers modified stock units.

Spohn sells a tubular one, UMI is about to release their tubuilar version as well.

Heard a lot of bad stuff about AJE, and he is only about a half hour from me.

If your stock one is damaged, I would just find a replacement from a junkyard.

To answer your original question, our jig is designed around the factory k-member which means your OE suspension components will bolt right up. Our new k-member bolts right in as a direct replacement. We even have the holes for the braces that run from the k-member forward and they bolt right up on our test car.

Is yours rusted, bent or what? If it is bent, you will want to get the car on a frame rack and see how straight the rest of the unibody is.

already done that, actually the body is straightened to its original specs on the frame rack. However, the OE k-member is squeezed due to an apparent and severe right side hit; it is preventing proper alignment and the car is low onto right front side. In order to get by, previous owner also did a patch-up job on the k-member's control arm connection holes so the whole piece is junk now.

Call hawks, they might have a stock one around.

The tubular ones are great, but expensive. If you are building an all out track car, they are just what you need. If you are restoring, or building a mild cruiser, a stock one will be much more economical.

This item will work with TPI, SBC and BBC. It features bolt in spring perches for standard springs and lowering springs. The K-member will except (meaning "accept"?) factory motor mounts or solid mounts like UMI P/N 0051.


ALSO, can I replace the OEM mounts w/ those solid mounts? What is the difference, if you would explain please...

And, in spite of sounding clueless, how many mounts do I need?

I already contacted Hawks via email but they will probably get back to me Monday. However and again, thanks for the advice as those tubular ones ARE expensive! But I am bumed out as I couldn't locate an online seller other than Hawks who would possibly have an OEM K-member.
