BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

ive been searching for a set of belltech 2 in drop spindles for a while now and thought i was out of luck... i found a company called vividracing.com that still has them forsale, i thought that it was a typing error because i called belltech today and they said they are no longer avalible... after speaking with vividracing they told me they can be special orderd for $255 but will take 3 too 4 weeks to be made, i called belltech again to verify and they said they DO make drop spindles for our cars if vividracing special orders them because they are one of there biggest vendors havnt orderd a set yet but thought a few people here would like to know

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

hmmm...sounds odd that the manufacturer says they dont make them anymore but a retailer says that they special order them from the manufacturer... $255 seems a bit cheap as well, i think I paid 500+ for my racecrafts. if it does all turn out to be legit then awesome, it just sounds weird.

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

The picture of the car with the cover on it shows the ride height of the car with newer (not sagging) stock replacement springs and the Racecraft 2'' drop spindle. The car was so low with just the drop spindles that I wasn't even able to drive it. I hadn't planned on that, so I ended up buying Ground Control weight jacks which their kit includes a coil spring and an adjustable perch that allows you to lower or raise the ride height yourself. I used the weight jacks so that I could raise the car up enough to be driveable. As far as the quality and construction of the racecraft spindles, they are excellent. I have had no issues with them and my car sees a good bit of road course racing / track days. I still am happy that I bought them even though I ended up having to use the weight jacks as well to make it work; being able to fine tune and set your ride height at all 4 corners is priceless in my opinion. The last picture is a current picture of the car with the weight jacks dialed in to where I like it. I dont know if everyone has the same problem of the car being too low with just the installation of the drop spindles or not, but thats what I ran into. You definitely could not run your lowering springs along with the drop spindles.

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

car does look low might make me re consider... mine sits at 28in at the bottom of the fender with worn springs, in a perfect world exactly 2 in less or 26in would be great but yours looks like its gotta be closer to 25"

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

I'm going to through in my 2 cents worth here, some dealers & manufactures say that they will make a part for you, but what they won't tell you is they wait until they have enough orders, say 50 or so before it's actually is done. I've canceled parts orders after 4 months because they keep telling you 2 or 3 more weeks. But you never really know, good luck.

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

Wow, thats a great find, I wish I had known that, woulda saved me some cash. I dont know if I had an atypical result to using the drop spindles or if others have ran into the same problem..but I'd have to think the manufacturers that make the drop spindle wouldn't make it so low that the car couldn't be driven. Maybe there was something up with my suspension that I was unaware of. I cant remember if the rubber spring insulators were in there or not on the stock stuff when I took it apart. Maybe if they were missing thats the reason why I was sitting a little too low. I also did a brake upgrade at the time which pushed the tires closer to the fender which would cause the wheel to rub sooner than if it were sitting back in its original location. All that aside, I love the drop spindles, I think they are invaluable in what they do for your front end suspension geometry. good luck either way

If that's the case, it shouldn't be too hard to get a group buy going. I'm in if it's legit and don't mind waiting a bit.

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

Out of curiousity, has anyone else looked into this? Also, has anyone else had the problem of the car being to low to drive using the spindles? Is it possible a set of new stock springs would solve the problem? Thanks

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

real 2" drop spindles would make most cars too low to drive everyday, if at all. however, if the car is already that low, the spindles would help return the front suspension geometry to a more correct place.

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

Do the Belltechs give you a 2 inch drop? That was another question i ment to ask. AJE spindles do like 1.5 which is a bit nicer imo.

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

1.5" would be the best of both worlds in my opinion.. 2" is ALOT but it depends on everyone's car (weight, spring condition, spring height, existence of spring insulators, ground clearance underneath, wheel size, etc.)

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

fronts are installed between crossmember and spring. It's actually a modified jacker installed upside down. The cup that the GC it has the spring sitting on is what normally welds to the chassis and the side that sits in the X member is what normally traps the spring. The rear is just a coil over conversion sleeve mounted in the spring perches on the axle.

Re: BELLTECH DROP SPINDLES

so no modifications are needed for the GC? just bolt in basically? Im guessing you dont need springs either, since the GC are the spring.

I guess this is why most people recommend Weight Jacks for our cars.

GCs are not the springs, you need shorter springs front and rear. GC kit comes with them, choose rate

Have you actually tried to place an order? Once you click "buy" it takes you to a page that says "product not found."

It works for me but guess what? I live in Canada and "apparently" it's going to cost 285$ for ground shipping LMAOOOOOOOO I don't know about this part but the shipping cost sure is a scam

Vivid does not carry and CANNOT get the drop spindles. I asked, they checked, and said there was nothing offered by belltech anymore.
