Bolts
I was looking around for the Panhard bar bolts (stepped ones) I noticed that some retailers have just a regular grade 8 bolt. Anyone know the best place to get the originals? also what size is the U-bolt that holds the sway bar on? thamks and Happy Holidays to all

Re: Bolts
Founders told me that the only place to get the stepped bolts was from the factory or dealership. They said I could just use 14mm x 80mm bolts and drill out the mounting holes on the body,(just remember to use grade 8 bolts) That worked great!!

Re: Bolts
On another note, on the vert with the long support rails there is no room to get a torque wrench in to set them at 70 foot pounds. I gues I will put them in and drive it a mile or so then retighten them while it is on the ground, any sugestions?

Re: Bolts
My bill was $14.00 dollars at the hardware store for grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers. Then the 9/16's drill bit to drill the holes out was $9.00. The Spohn's price seems pretty good.

Re: Bolts
I've gotten stock ones from a local gm dealer a couple of times.
I have wondered why they were designed tapered with a smaller thread than shoulder, if someone could come up with a good reason for it it would be easy enough to make a sleeve to fit over a bolt the size of the smaller end of the stock bolt to make it fit like stock, but otherwise I don't see a good reason not to drill the second side of the bracket so you can just use a straight bolt in the size of the shoulder.

Re: Bolts
Called my local dealer today, they come in a pack of 5, my cost was only $5.69 for the pack. I refuse to hack up my car by drilling things out, the bolts have a shoulder for a reason I am not an engineer so I dont plan to change it.
