Re: spring compreesor tool?
None of those parts store compressors worked for me. I dont thnk I've seen anyone on here say they used one successfully either.
You're better off with a long crowbar and a floor jack.

ive always used a floor jack. If you have lowering springs it makes it easier than stock ones as the jack will take the complete load off the spring and will just drop out. Ive done it a few times on my car with a eibach pro kit

The type I used was the long bolt with the 4 hook / clamps... you put it inside the spring, set the hooks, and start tightening the bolt.... I did have to cut / shorten the bolt because the way it was was too long (read that here too) but worked great...

Re: spring compreesor tool?
I used an internal compressor made by OTC. It uses plates and a thrust bearing which made compressing the spring very easy. They're not cheap though, cost me $175 but well worth having the proper tools on hand. Most of the part store compressers don't hold position well and are hard to compress because it's just metal to metal contact creating increasing friction as you tighten.
