kind of a lame question but what kind of paint would i use to paint my springs. before i put them back in i thought i'd pretty them up a bit but i dont want them to flake once they start moving... any suggestions ?

I used POR-15 a few years ago. No issues.

Por 15 for me - first choice.

Eastwood makes a nice chassis black as well.

Really, any one spot on most springs doesn't move more than the average body panel, so whatever you use will work about as well as it will on any other piece of steel... Por15 is actually pretty flexable, but doesn't stick great to bare metal, so if the springs are clean it might not be the best choice

 

vht has some nice rattle can epoxy chassis paint that's good in a pinch too. not as nice as por 15, but cheaper and holds up pretty well

use thick gloves with that por 15! still wearing it a week later!

 

I dropped one of the axle tubes on my leg when I was painting my rear end and it was on my leg for a month

 

well I'm using some tractor paint for the under body so i guess I'll just use the same paint for the springs. this stuff stick pretty good and is half the price. this is how it looks on the underbody. I've used this paint on other cars and its pretty good stuff.

 

I sprayed mine with a can of red Krylon.

 

Look for "blitz black" paint at your nearest john deere implement. Made by valspar. Its the closest you can get to powdercoating.

 

ya the paint I'm using is valspar i don't know if its "blitz" but its some pretty crazy stuff. like the others mentioned about getting it on them... this stuff comes off with nothing short of mineral spirits lol
