My Custom Strut Tower Brace
I wanted to get some comments on the STB that I designed and my fab shop at work made recently. Let me know what you think.

1.75 x 1.25 heavy wall aluminum tubing with solid machined end fittings. The tube was compression bent for a slight curvature to rise over the upper radiator hose before welding the fittings on. The fabricator ground the welds smooth and then polished it.

That's pretty slick looking, any plans to make more of them?

Wow that is sick looking! Excellent job, this is 10 times better than what I planned on seeing. I myself am really wanting to pull the welder out and will fab one up myself. I really don't know what would be the best material, and I also want it to clear my dual snorkel intake which might be hard.

Re: My Custom Strut Tower Brace
Thanks for all the great comments. Here are some answers to the questions:
jlarsson: pictures attached of the mounting - the bracket utilizes 2 existing bolts of the upper strut mount and one new hole is drilled.
nosajwols: The 1/4" steel brackets weigh 1.5 lbs ea and the aluminum bar weighs 3.5 lbs for a total of 6.5 lbs.
articwhiteZ: I haven't seen anything I really liked either and almost all of them won"t clear a carb w/14" air cleaner. The bracket has 10 deg forward angle which along with the bar curvature, easily clears my air cleaner by 3/4" and the radiator hose below it by 1.5".
Regarding making more of them . . . sorry, but I'm a machine designer by trade, not a fabricator. My friends at work made this for me because they are also custom car enthusiasts. That said, I would be happy to share fully dimensioned drawings with anyone who would like to build one for their personal use.
I am also near completion on a new two peice machined aluminum power steering pump bracket. It's for the metric resevoir/pump unit that was stock on my '84 305. It has a front mounted pivot bracket and a rear adjustable clamp strap. It doesn't use the outer header bolt like the original one does. I really hated the original wrap around steel one and I don't like any of the aftermarket ones either, they just seem too complicated and expensive. I would share drawings of this as well when I'm done if anyone would like a set.
If you are interested in the drawings just PM me and I will send you PDF drawings of the part details.

That's a nice looking piece rockstarr. What sort of money do you have in that STB and are you going to have more made?
