Best Struts?
I looked everywhere to find some input on the best struts for our cars and couldn't find much of anything. I was wondering if anyone had any opinions why or why not they liked certain brands and advantages or disadvantages of brands. Or even if there is different types with fancy technology. Let me know! Thanks!

Its all how much you want to spend really. Koni Yellows seem to get the nod for best overall aftermarket performance strut but at 700 something dollars for all for wheels they should. Bilsteins are a good choice too but also pretty pricy. You can pick up a set of Tokico Illuminas on ebay for around 450 plus shipping and get a very nice firm ride for less money than the others. Im running them now and no complaints. Then down the list is the Tokico HP which is a non-adjustable shock. There way more out there so i guess ill just list the ones that come to mind. If you type those into a search on this board you can figure out the pros and cons of them.

Re: Best Struts?
Koni Reds are adjustable just like the Yellows are. They're just dampened to a softer degree than the yellows. Think of it as Z51 = Red, Z06 = Yellow.
Having said that, I'm not surprised the Reds are discontinued or harder to find. Because the Yellows run the whole spectrum from grocery getter to autocrosser. The Yellow isn't bone stiff or anything. Firmer yes. But not harsher. Even my Mother thought the car rides nicely with the Yellows in there.

Re: Best Struts?
Had the tokico HP (blue ones) and used them for a couple of years and they were very good for street driving. Searching for something more, I got the Koni yellows when they were on special. They are a big step up in ride control and comfort than the blues, but the blues were a huge step up from stock.

shox.com has a 20% sale on koni right now. I just picked up the pro spring and koni package for like 860 with shipping. I can't freaking wait to get them in.
