Re: how low is to low??
Looks good to me. Im constantly amazed by how different claimed drops of the same distance can look totally different from car to car. I think the main problem is people just assume a spring thats supposed to drop a car so many inches actually does. I really with people would actually measure rather than throwing out numbers that probably arent accurate.
Front ends typically tend to be lower because of all the weight up front but imo it looks better with a little rake anyway.
Im crossing my fingers that my 2in. drop isnt way to low since i cant seem to find ay good things to compare to.

Typically you go with stiffer springs as you go lower... This tends to reduce suspension movement & will prevent bottoming, even though it is lower.
Not sure what springs you have, but I prefer a fixed rate, although progressives ride softer, you can have more bottoming issues with the softer initial rates.
Also good shocks will help to control the suspension better & prevent some bottoming issues.
My '91 Formula has approx. the same distance from the fender to tire as you (it is lowered 2.5" actual, compared to a 17K mile original car.) & I never bottom out the undercarriage. Your front spoiler may be a problem depending on what type of steep driveways etc. that you encounter.
I have 800# Global West competition springs, Koni's & 275/40/17's & I do not have issues even on rough PA roads, & I drive it hard, like it was meant to be driven. I used extended ball joints to help preserve the proper geometry, in addition to a spring with less drop.
Low looks good, but any lower & you will be putting the front suspension at a geometry that reduces handling. Keep it off the bumpstops & modify what you have to so that your car corners well.
Depends on what your goals are, as to how low you want it.

And I live in Portland. You plan your routes and avoid speedbumps and certain streets/driveways. Remember, low is a lifestyle.

I have about the same ride height as you and to tell you the truth I wouldn't go lower. Biggest problem I've had so far is speed-bumps and finding low jacks. That being said why not try some bigger tires in on the back?

Re: how low is to low??
A claimed X inch drop is going to vary according to car weight anyway. Heavier cars will drop farther than light ones.
Re: how low is to low??
My front end scrapes all the time. It looks terrible. If I merge on to a road from a driveway or parking lot that has any kind of slope it will drag. Sometimes the front spoiler will even fold back if the slope is too much.
