As you might imagine, your request could elicit a ton of opinions. Since there aren't many questions that haven't been asked and answered on-site, you might consider a search in order to get a good general idea of all that's available.
At any rate, best of luck on your project.

Koni yellows seem to be the most popular if your looking for the best. I believe they are currently on sale so if your in the market for them, now is the time to buy. The Koni's are adjustible, but many people set them and leave them alone. Bilstiens are also highly recommended, these ones are non-adjustible.

I'd look at Koni Yellow's or Red's with yellows being more aggressive. Bilstein's are on the same level for quality, and both are rebuildable and have a lifetime warranty. Search for a guy named Strano if you're concerned about ride quality and want something tuned with the springs etc.
Could also update/replace sway bar bushings etc. as well.

What about these?

I read some decent stuff about them on the forums here, I am planning to test them out on my Firebird.
I realize that they don't have a lifetime warranty like the others, but in the beginning I'm not looking for adjustable, rebuild-able stuff. I just want stuff that really accentuates the WS6 style suspension. I would think for a Turbo Trans Am they would really wake it up.
