Rear Axle Codes

Rear End Codes
I have 1984 Z28 and am trying to find out the gear ratio in it. I found the stamped code the axle housing... This where I need help. All the sights either don't go to 1984 or they don't have the right information. The code on the housing is 6HFC0892 or it is GHFC0892. Please can anyone help me?

Welcome to TGO, Wrench. Dropping the cover and checking the numbers on the ring and pinion (or counting teeth), as mentioned in post #1 of the link below, may be the best option for absolute verification:

Probably a good idea to pull cover and clean inside and out new gasket and syn. gear oil.
