lowering back of dragcar

dropping down from my 295s to 275s want to close up the fender gap. whats the best way of dropping the back of the car and still making it hook? i hear things about people running different springs and weight jack but i know nothing about any of that. is that the way to go or is there another way? teach me...

Re: lowering back of dragcar

I just change the coil over height position with the brackets on the diff to get the ride height I want.

You don't want the back of a production car down too far. It will really screw up your drivetrain geometry. Drag cars that look like they're sitting on the ground are tube chassis cars. The body sits low but the chassis is still high.

Re: lowering back of dragcar

if you still have the stock rubber insolator on top of the rear springs, you can take that out and it will net you maybe a half inch? if its not enough you can cut a little off the top of the springs to lower it a bit more.

can anyone tell me a little about different springs and the weight jacks? that seems like the better way to go.
