Another Vette IRS thread
this is in no way a slam to 1MeanZ or his setup, it is absolutly briliant, he is an excelent fabricator (his work looks as professional as any I've seen), and an superb engineer, (I hadn't thought of the datem line, nice constant). I want to keep the rear seat, heck I'm not sure that this will even happen, money will decide for sure.
Rats If money grew on tree's!!! I have always (or at least as long as I have owned hot rods) wanted to put IRS out of a Vette into something, a 69 Chevelle?....then I was introduced to the third gen Camaro's. well dang it seems it would be a logical upgrade to me. it kind of discourages ya a little to see the work involved. any how I am getting ready to start the process of getting my vert road worthyonce again but, I know what I would like to end up with and that Is proly 5 years out. not sure I want to go that far, but if I did; I would like to build a system that incorporates subframe connectors into the IRS mounting. On my ASC built Vert, they made a flimsey SFC's out of fabbed flat sheetmetal that are just inside the rocker panels (can you say megga flex). seems logical to remove those in liew of chromemolly tubing. run this on back into the IRS setup. possably making it a bolt or weld in cassette that can be Jig built and made available to others. As I once in my life worked as a professional sheet metal R&D mechanic I do have a good working knowledge of metal . I really do not know if it can be done as of yet as I need to get under there or get a car on a rotissery to look into the possabilities, just time and money I guess. also I would like to look at the possibility of Vette front suspension. any thoughts???

Jay Cutshaw did his 4th gen IRS years ago & kept his rear seat intact, but the Zeus Performance webpage that I had bookmarked all about his car is gone now so....?
But I do have this page Bookmarked with some pics & good info.
